DESIGN BABBLE: The Nonlife Zoo - Taiwan

Design company Biaugust from Taiwan have created The Nonlife Zoo movement to raise awareness of the extinction of wildlife due to human destruction. These eco-friendly animal keychains with eco-bags stored inside are individually handmade with original graphics reflecting their struggles in their specific habitat.

"With the hope to promote the concept of animal protection, we, as designers, introduced "The Nonlife Zoo" series of artworks. "The Nonlife Zoo" is not a traditional entertaining site holding rare birds and animals for families to watch, nor is it a prevailing educational facility with the goal to protect endangered species and to teach the laws of nature, but a new kind of zoo that will emerge in the near future - a zoo without any living creatures. In the zoo park, you can only find still, immovable animals but no living creatures; you can only hear painful groans from helpless animals, but no children's joyful laughter. On the contrary, these puppets pose themselves as if they have surrendered, with the expression of indifference and cruelty written on their faces, expressing their frustration andresistance toward what mankind has done to them."
