TRAVEL BABBLE: Coqui Coqui - Tulum, Mexico

Next Stop: Tulum, Mexico. Specifically the Coqui Coqui Spa Hotel on the Yucatan Peninsula in the Mayan village of Coba. Proprietors and perfumers (and most beautiful couple in the world) Nicolas Malleville and Francesca Bonato have created a perfect beach sanctuary, instilling an ambience of bohemian simplicity. The seven-room hotel, built of traditional Mayan stone, is devoted to natural spa therapies. Rustic beach charm meets refined elegance.

TRAVEL BABBLE: Hand-picked Paradise

Welcome Beyond.

Welcome Beyond is a brand new travel site with a fresh perspective and heavenly eye for architecture, design and ambiance. The Berlin based Founders/brothers Chris and Oliver Laugsch curate one-of-a-kind places to rest your head across the globe. Their objective was to create a travel site that stresses the importance of your home base when you travel and how important it is to find inspiration in your surroundings. Welcome Beyond is bringing a new sense of discovery and meaning to the jet setter. In the near future, they plan to use profits generated through the site to support those who are less fortunate.

DESIGN BABBLE: Japanese Sugar Clap

Measuring in at 1.4-inches x 2.8-inches and weighing only 24g, this minimalist PowerShovel camera/USB produces dreamy holga-esque pictures saved as JPEG files. The Clap camera features a 2 MP lens with a microSD card that supports up to 16GB. The USB can be used to transfer files as well as charge the battery. But really, it's the cutest thing we've seen since their meowing cat camera...

Available in several yummy colors.

TRAVEL BABBLE: Surfing 28 States: India

Last week, BF had the chance to attend the awesome fundraiser/trailer premiere of Surfing 28 States: India. Birthed by two witty Aussie grommets, Jonno Durrant & Stefan Hunt, Surfing 28 States is a documentary based on their 3 month voyage across the 28 diverse and extremely populated states of India. Whilst surfing at any and every opportunity, Jonno & Stefan also chose several non-profit organizations to meet up with along the way. One of which includes Our Home-- a charity currently managing two childrens homes in South India and a local primary school for children who in many cases, would not be able to afford schooling. Our Home strives to work with the local community so that no child is denied the right to an education, adequate shelter, love, care and a nutritional diet.

Sponsored by Vita Coco and Kind Bars, the charity event was held at a Surf Shop in Williamsburg with live music from local bands and a silent auction of their incredible voyage photography. All proceeds went directly to Our Home.

TRAVEL BABBLE: Luxury in the Treetops

Our favorite high flying tree hotels around the globe:

Ariau Amazon Towers Hotel - Brazilian Amazon

One of the largest commercial treehouse hotels in the world, located 35 miles from the Amazon gateway city of Manaus. Private balconies, plunge pools, and Jacuzzi's - Oh, my!

Tranquil Resort - Wayanad, Kerala, India

Located on a private 400-acre estate/coffee and vanilla plantation in the Kerala rainforest. The 500-square-foot treehouse, built from coffee wood, has the trunk of a Royal Poinciana growing through the bedroom... Straight treehouse style!

Tsala Treetop Lodge - Plettenberg Bay, South Africa

Overlooks the Tsitsikamma Forest with 10 secluded tree suites.
Umm... infinity-edge pool in the treetops? Amazing!

Tree House Lodge - Limon, Costa Rica

Sustainably built from fallen trees on 10-acre beachfront property in the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. Shower with the roots of a massive 100-year-old Sangrillo tree!

Hinchinbrook Island Wilderness Lodge - Hinchinbrook Island, Australia

Step out (down?) from this secluded timber treehouse on this 96-acre lush national park and onto the beach! Seriously, beach front access? Yes, please.

Maravu Plantation - Matei, Fiji

Built into an ancient rain tree, Maravu sits on Fiji's Taveuni Island, offering stunning wide-range views of the South Pacific.

Sanya Nanshan Treehouse - Hainan Island, China

"Big Beach in the Sky", this tree hotel is built into a stand of tamarind trees, steps away from the blue waters of the South China Sea.
