ART BABBLE: The Obliteration Room - Yayoi Kusama
stark white room + thousands of stickers + thousands of kids = one amazing fantasy land.
Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama painted an entire room white for this December installation in Australia's Queensland Gallery of Modern Art. Thousands of children were then invited to go mad with multi colored dot stickers throughout this giant white domestic setup, serving as a blank "canvas", complete with couches, tables, chairs, and a piano. This was the result.
This installation is 100% true to Yayoi's own personal style - colorfully dotted.
Check out her work here. Or rather get the full effect with Google image.

TRAVEL BABBLE: Treehotel - Sweden
Located in the northern village of Harads, with a mere 600 inhabitants, the simply named Treehotel has become quite the popular tourist attraction with its stunning views of serene natural forest. Owned by Britta and Kent Lindvall and designed by several leading Scandinavian architects, the hotel consists of five tree "houses" (nineteen more on their way with the aim of making a minimal ecological footprint) all beautifully designed inside and out. The rooms themselves vary in size, each with a different name and theme-- The Mirrorcube, The Cabin, The Bird's Nest, The UFO, and the Blue Cone (which is indeed painted red).
Take a peak at the interior of each here.
